Broken teeth are one of the most common problems a dentist encounters. Fixing a broken tooth usually requires a crown because the fracture is typically too large to fill-in. If the fracture exposes the nerve or extend below the gum line, additional treatment will be required because the tooth has been weakened further. Once the crown is in place, the tooth will look and function ideally for several decades. Dr. Thompson himself has crowns that are 30-40 years old and are still going strong—they were an excellent value.
