Microscopic Dentistry

In 1999, Dr. Thompson was the first general dentist in Arizona to purchase a surgical microscope and implement the use of microscopic dentistry. Today, Dr. Thompson remains one of the few general dentists in Arizona who has mastered the craft of microscopic dentistry and uses the instrument regularly.

The benefits of an operating microscope in the dental practice include:

  1. Minimally Invasive Treatment
  2. Preserve teeth with more precise work
  3. Produce more accurate results
  4. Saves you money, time and more extensive treatment

Digital Radiography

While most dentists in the US still use film based radiography, our practice has invested in a state-of-the-art system for taking digital x-rays. Our darkroom has been replaced with a computerized imaging center running specialized software to manage your electronic health record in accordance with the federal guidelines.

The benefits of digital radiography in the dental practice include:

  • Less radiation needed to make the necessary images.
  • The ability to enhance and magnify images for more accurate diagnosis.
  • Immediate results.
  • Improved storage and sharing capacity with other dental specialists.
  • More comfortable for patients – We use a cordless phosphor plate technology which is smaller and more comfortable than film or electronic sensors.

Intraoral Camera

We use a digital intraoral camera system that allows us to easily photograph the interior of the mouth.

The benefits of intraoral cameras in the dental practice include:

  1. You can see and understand what we see. This allows you to make more informed decisions.
  2. The ability to enhance and magnify images for more accurate diagnosis.
  3. Immediate results.
  4. Improved storage and sharing capacity with other dental specialists.
  5. More comfortable for patients – The camera is in the shape of a “wand,” making it easier to maneuver in the mouth.

Digital Intraoral Photography

We use state-of-the-art extra oral photography to capture your smile. This is an excellent tool to help us work together to plan for excellent esthetic results.
